This past weekend my family and I went to Banff to take part in the Race Amazing Banff competition. It’s like Amazing Race with all the same components, except you stay in the greatest town in the world (Banff) and don’t travel around the world.
My partner was my 8 year old son. They warned me that the race covers a long distance and he may not be able to make it. They don’t know my son. The same guy that once a week this past summer tells me where in the Rockies he wants to hike next- Sulphur Mountain, Lake Louise Tea House, Chain Lakes, Grassi Lake, Big Bee Hive. He crushed it! I’m so incredibly proud of him, and who better to share the day with?!
I always say it’s not about what you accomplish in life, it’s about who you share the memories with. We can’t stop talking about how great our day was. You totally need to do it next year. It is sooooo much fun.
Best of Banff and Discover Banff Tours put it on, and you felt like you were on the tv show. Eating challenges, canoe challenges, puzzles and LOTS of running. Probably about 15 kms in all.
The perfect capper to the night?! A great dinner with friends of fondue and wine at the Banff Grizzle House.
