It makes you pretty proud when you attend a Calgary sporting event and they completely own Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I want to give a ton of credit to both the Calgary Stampeders and Calgary Hitmen for helping raise so much money and awareness to eliminate women’s cancer’s forever.
The Stamps had a huge campaign and sold out of their toques, scarves etc last week. It was so cool to see 27,000 people decked out in pink (along with the players).
Yesterday, it was the Calgary Hitmen’s turn. A new modified jersey with pink trim looked awesome, but they raised the bar when they dyed the entire ice surface pink. It was so cool to see. Unfortunately it didn’t give them a huge advantage as they lost the game, but won our hearts, and lots of money to help such a great cause too.
Congrats Calgary…. your heart gets bigger every day!
